iVol
. What is iVol?
It is a program you can use to adjust the sound volume of your computer in an extremely easy way.
Just press your mouse wheel and scroll it up or down. You do not even have to move your hand! In addition, it also supports Shift+Wheel as an alternative.
The program can display an on-screen volume level, and also allows you to switch between audio devices using Alt+Wheel.
Latest Feature: Double click mouse wheel to toggle "Mute" status.
. Is iVol free?
Currently iVol is free for personal use. I developed iVol in my spare time. I hope it will be helpful for you as much as it is for me. If you like iVol, please support me by donating some money to me. Your support is greatly appreciated.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE IVOL SOFTWARE FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSE IN ANY SITUATIONS. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE MONEY FROM THE IVOL SOFTWARE.
. Where to download iVol?

. How to use iVol?

- Alternatively, you can use SHIFT + Wheel UP/DOWN to adjust the volume as well.
- You can also change the current sound device whose volume will be adjusted by pressing ALT + Wheel UP/DOWN.

Nice utility: simple & effective.
I was searching for a nice on screen display for volume, and this has a lot of other nice features as well. Thanks!
Does this work in Win Vista?
Great utility!
Hello,
this is great utility!
But I've 2 sound cards and cannot switch between them using ALT + Wheel UP/DOWN. Instead of this ALT + Wheel UP/DOWN changes source volume control for default device (General, WAV, MIDI, Line In etc).
Can you help me please?
Thank you,
David
Hi, i've been looking for a tool like this for ages, THANK YOU! And thanks again for releasing it as freeware :)
I have two suggestions for improvement:
1) The tray icon could show the current volume level to be more informative.
2) If technically possible, it would be nice to be able to change the volume by only moving the cursor over the tray icon and turning the wheel. Without using a shortcut or clicking the wheel.
Thanks again!
Doesn't work. Mac OS X 10.4.10, Mighty Mouse.
Hi Thomas,
Please remember to enable the mouse wheel as the "Button 3" in "System Preferences"->Mouse->Keyboard & Mouse->"Mouse" tab.
Happy scrolling!
it doesn't work in Windows Vista, does it??
Great utility!
The ONLY thing I miss in it is the ability to type in the volume level via keyboard, e.g. I would enter number 20 which would hav the same effect as scrolling to the same level with mouse wheel. I need this on laptops, when I don't have a mouse attached...
I am having a problem where if I click the mouse button while scrolling it starts to adjust the volume. Then it wont stop unless I click the volume again. I have it configured to adjust the volume when I hold the shift key while scrolling so this should not be happening. It is becoming difficult since my click on my wheel is very sensitive.
iVol sounds like a very simple, effective, user-friendly tools that is a must for a crumblesome-less productive computer life.
Why don't make it work for Win Vista too; my computer is sadly a Vista.
I see the volume slide while holding down the mouse button but scrolling doesn't change the volume. Does this work on Leopard?
Great utility. Using it for long time on XP. Unfortunately now I have Win7 and it does not work on Win7. Other similiar utilities are not as good as iVol. I was very disappointed when I saw that it did not work on Win7. I wish it could work. 12 October 2011.
